THE 12TH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON MEDIEVAL STUDIES AT THE MATENADARAN

The ‘12th International Conference on Medieval Studies’ at the Matenadaran will be held this year on 26–28 November. We invite researchers conducting research in medieval studies to participate in the conference. Papers may be presented on the following topics:

Manuscript studies and scriptoria,

Source studies and historiography,

History of the Armenian language,

History of Armenian literature,

Art history,

Oriental studies,

Theology and religious studies.

The working languages of the conference are Armenian, English, and Russian.

In order to ensure the effective organization of the conference, the organizing committee has established the following deadlines:

By 12 September of this year, participants should submit to the organizing committee an abstract of 350–400 words, including the title of the paper, the participant’s first and last name, as well as the institution represented by the participant (independent researchers are also welcome to participate). The abstract should reflect the proposed paper and the objectives of the research. Please send abstracts to the following email address:

By 10 October of this year, the authors of abstracts that receive a positive evaluation will be invited to present their papers at the conference to be held at the Matenadaran on 26–28 November. A limited number of participants traveling from abroad may be provided with financial support for travel expenses.

ATTENTION: Due to the number of applications received, the organizing committee will give priority to topics directly related to the manuscript studies.
