The “1 YEAR’S ETERNITY” exhibition, held from July 2023 to July 2024, showcased the successful collecting activities of Matenadaran. The exhibition confirmed that the repatriation of manuscripts, archival documents, and old printed books remained the primary goal of Matenadaran.
The additions to the collection became possible through collaboration with state institutions, private organizations, and generous individuals. These unprecedented achievements were funded by Matenadaran and supported by a new strategy to raise public awareness and disseminate information.
The exhibition featured ancient fragments, exceptional manuscripts, photographs, and other valuable documents, each bearing traces of historical events. These items will undergo conservation and restoration to preserve their historical significance.
Every manuscript obtained by Matenadaran represents the continuity of collective memory. Over the years, the dedication of the manuscript has acquired a sacred meaning. Every manuscript is treated with great care and reverence.
The “1 YEAR’S ETERNITY” exhibition served as a gesture of gratitude from the Matenadaran Directorate to the state authorities and benefactors of RA, urging them to participate in the substantial process of repatriation of manuscripts.
The evening will be concluded with a concert by the National Chamber Orchestra of Armenia, featuring performances of Armenian and European classical compositions adjacent to Matenadaran.
