A NEW DONATION TO THE MATENADARAN

Accompanied by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the United States, Narek Mkrtchyan, Prince Dani Badawi, a representative of the Badawi royal dynasty, and Grammy Award-winning singer Mohombi visited the Matenadaran. Prince Dani Badawi presented to the Matenadaran an Akkadian contract inscribed on a clay tablet dating to 1750–1712 BC.

CREATIVE REINTERPRETATION OF HISTORICAL AND CULTURAL SPIRITUAL VALUES

Sculptor Raffi Yedalian has donated his bronze sculpture of Hakob Meghapart to Matenadaran. This sculpture, created in 2012, commemorates the 500th anniversary of the first Armenian printed book, “Urbatagirk” (“The Book of Friday”).
