Due to time constraints and technical issues, Matenadaran was unable to participate in the auction held in France on June 11 of this year, where the collection of handwritten and printed works from the renowned Samuelian Library was up for sale. The director of Matenadaran has emphasised the importance of direct negotiations with the owners of literary heritage. On July 31, 2025, the family of Karapet Yesayan, who participated in the auction above and acquired several old printed books, generously donated these items to the Mesrop Mashtots Matenadaran. This act is significant not only for enhancing the Matenadaran collection but also carries considerable moral weight. It can be viewed as a unique call to all Armenians to join the “HOMECOMING OF MANUSCRIPTS” campaign initiated by Matenadaran. The Directorate of Matenadaran extends its profound gratitude to the Yesayan family for their esteemed support of national culture.
