THE LABORATORY FOR BIOCHEMICAL RESEARCH OF MANUSCRIPTS WAS OPENED IN MATENADARAN UNDER THE SPONSORSHIP OF ARARATBANK AS PART OF THE INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR “THE FACES OF MEMORY.”

Zhanna Andreasyan, the RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Matenadaran, and Mher Ananyan, the Executive Director of AraratBank, had the honour of cutting the ribbon.

This laboratory will elevate Matenadaran’s work in manuscript restoration to a new level and implement new programs as a unified centre for the restoration of written heritage. The exhibition “The Radiant Mission of Matenadaran” followed the opening ceremony, showcasing samples restored by Matenadaran employees from various structures in Armenia, including manuscripts, canvases, archival documents, and other museum objects.

The exhibition concept was presented by Gayane Eliazyan, head of the Restoration Department of Matenadaran, and Yvette Tajarian, head of the Museum.

Ara Khzmalyan, Director of Matenadaran, Zhanna Andreasyan, RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, and Mher Ananyan, Executive Director of AraratBank, spoke at the event.

A performance by the Avetis String Quartet concluded the evening.

Diplomatic representatives, philanthropists, cultural and public figures, and heads of partner institutions were present at the event.
