YOUNG SPECIALISTS JOIN MATENADARAN’S RESTORATION DEPARTMENT

Matenadaran and the Yerevan State College of Culture and Arts named after Charles Aznavour have signed a memorandum of cooperation to support the training of restorers and the development of a new generation of specialists.

The memorandum was signed by Matenadaran Director Ara Khzmalyan and College Director Vrej Kirakosyan.

Anna Babajanyan, the newly appointed Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of the Republic of Armenia, also attended the signing ceremony.

The partnership will provide students with practical training at Matenadaran under the guidance of experienced restorers. It also includes professional courses, masterclasses, and the development of educational programmes and facilities.

The initiative aims to sustain restoration training in Armenia and strengthen the workforce dedicated to preserving cultural heritage.

Three college students who trained in Matenadaran’s Restoration Department have signed employment contracts. In total, four former students of the college now work at Matenadaran.
