ARA KHZMALYAN, DIRECTOR OF THE MATENADARAN, HAS BEEN ELECTED A MEMBER OF THE ”ASSOCIATION INTERNATIONALE DE BIBLIOPHILIE (AIB)’

The decision was made at a meeting of the Association’s Board held in Geneva in September 2026. The Director of the Matenadaran was officially informed of his election in a letter from the Association’s Secretary-General, Louise Amazan, Head of the Rare Books Department at the National Library of France.

The Association Internationale de Bibliophilie brings together scholars, specialists, and collectors engaged in the study and preservation of book history, rare publications, manuscripts, and printed heritage.

This membership opens up new opportunities for expanding the Matenadaran’s international professional network, strengthening scholarly cooperation, and promoting Armenian written heritage worldwide.
