On October 26, Archbishop Boghos Levon Zekiyan of the Armenian Catholic Archeparchy of Istanbul delivered a lecture titled “Appreciation of Armenian values in our current narration” at Matenadaran. He is also an Armenologist, an expert in Narekatsi studies, a philosopher, and a professor. The ceremony was held to celebrate and congratulate the 80th birthday of the holy father.
During the event, Ara Khzmalyan, the director of Matenadaran, presented Archbishop Levon Zekiyan with a commemorative medal named after Mesrop Mashtots in recognition of his significant contributions to Armenian studies.
The lecture served as a start and prelude to the “Narekatsi Readings” conference, which will continue on December 5-6, 2023, in honour of Hrachya Tamrazyan’s 70th birthday.
