MATENADARAN’S DIRECTOR PARTICIPATES IN THE SECOND ACADEMIC FORUM OF ANCIENT CIVILIZATIONS

On March 20-22, 2019, the Director of Matenadaran Vahan Ter-Ghevondian and the senior researcher of the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography NAS RA Arsen Bobokhyan will represent Armenia in the Second Academic Forum of Ancient Civilizations held in La Paz, Bolivia. The Ancient Civilizations Forum, which was set up in 2016 on Greece and China’s initiative, is a platform for cultural cooperation and dialogue aimed at promoting cooperation for the protection and preservation of cultural values. The founding members of the forum are Bolivia, Egypt, Iraq, Iran, Italy and Peru, as well as India and Mexico as an observer. Since July 13, 2018, Armenia is a full member of the organization. The delegates representing Armenia at this forum, Vahan Ter-Ghevondian and Arsen Bobokhyan, will report on the following topics: Vahan Ter-Ghevondian – Ancient Armenian as a powerful means of cultural transfer. Arsen Bobokhyan – From the Andes to the Himalayas, over the Armenian mountains. The progresses and challenges of the high mountain cultural heritage.
