Visit of the former Prime Minister of the Republic of Italy Romano Prodi and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Italy to the Republic of Armenia Alfonso Di Rizzo to the “Matenadaran” Mesrop Mashtots Institute of Ancient Manuscripts.
Director of Matenadaran Ara Khzmalyan hosted the former Prime Minister of Italy, President of the European Commission, Special Envoy of the UN Secretary General for the Sahel region, Romano Prodi, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Italy to the Republic of Armenia, Alfonso Di Rizzo. They toured the Matenadaran Museum, got acquainted with the main and temporary exhibitions. Romano Prodi was impressed by the rich manuscript heritage of theMatenadaran, restoration works and foreign language, as well as Italian, archival documents. The guests were given a unique opportunity to visit the Matenadaran archive.
