Mr. Ara Khzmalyan, Director of the Matenadaran, hosted Nora Arissian, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Syrian Arab Republic to the Republic of Armenia.
During the meeting, Mrs. Arissian congratulated Mr. Khzmalyan on his election as the director of the Matenadaran and discussed potential cooperation between the Matenadaran and cultural and academic institutions in Syria. They explored opportunities for collaboration in research, restoration, and the promotion of Arabic manuscript heritage.”
Mr. Ara Khzmalyan expressed gratitude for the visit and congratulations and stressed the importance of implementing joint projects in the mentioned fields. Ambassador Arissian visited the Departments of Restoration, Digitization and Oriental Studies of the Matenadaran and got acquainted with their activities. She highly appreciated the Matenadaran’s contribution to the important task of preserving Arabic manuscripts.
