HEADS AND SPECIALISTS FROM SIGNIFICANT REHABILITATION CENTRES IN ITALY WILL VISIT MATENADARAN

During their visit to Italy, the Matenadaran delegation visited the Opificio delle Pietre Dure Center in Florence and the Central Institute for the Pathology of Archives and Books in Rome.

Lusine Margaryan, a member of the newly created Biochemical Research Group of Manuscripts of Matenadaran, also attended the visits.

A tour was organized for the delegation to visit all research laboratories and introduce laboratory infrastructures and equipment. The educational departments of the centres were also highlighted, which is especially important for the “Restoration of Written Heritage” master’s program soon to be implemented in Matenadaran.

The Directorate officially invited specialists from the two structures to attend the international seminar “The Images of Memory: The Newest Technologies of Preservation and Restoration of Manuscript and Printed Heritage,” which will be held in Matenadaran in the fall. During the seminar, a revised memorandum with the Central Institute for the Pathology of Archives and Books in Rome will be signed. Improving the professional abilities and infrastructure of the employees of the Rehabilitation Department of Matenadaran, as well as expanding international relations, are among the priorities of Matenadaran’s development program.
