AN EXHIBITION TITLED “POETRY OF IMAGE” WAS RECENTLY HELD AT MASHTOTS MATENADARAN TO COMMEMORATE THE 130TH BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF THE IRANIAN-ARMENIAN PAINTER, ANDRE SEVRUGIAN

Ara Khzmalyan, the director of Matenadaran, highlighted that this exhibition symbolizes the solidarity between two civilizations and cultural belonging. It also reflects the policy of Matenadaran to diversify exhibitions. The “Poetry of Image” exhibition showcased exclusive manuscript exhibits along with machine paintings that were taken from storage and displayed publicly for the first time, belonging to different stages of Andre Sevrugian’s creativity.

The exhibition was organized in collaboration with the Museums of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, the History Museum of Armenia, Yerevan State University, the Museum of Literature and Art after Yeghishe Charents, Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute, Folk Arts Museum after Hovhannes Sharambeyan, Sardarapat Memorial, National Museum of Armenian Ethnography, and the History of Liberal Struggle.

The opening speech at the event was given by Father Sevak Saribekyan and Yvette Tajarian, the head of the Matenadaran Museum.
