MATENADARAN DELEGATION AT THE UNIVERSITY OF HAMBURG

At the invitation of Professor Jost Gippert from the University of Hamburg, employees from Matenadaran—Aram Topchyan, Gohar Muradyan, Gurgen Gasparyan, David Ghazaryan, Ara Gasparyan, and Sona Baloyan—are participating in the international conference titled “Manuscript Culture in the Caucasus,” organized by the Center for the Study of Manuscript Culture from March 24 to 26.

The meeting commenced with a report by Ara Khzmalyan, the Director of Matenadaran, entitled “The International Context of Matenadaran.” Throughout the conference, Matenadaran scholars presented on various topics, including the study of manuscript duplicates, digitization efforts, advanced technologies, parchment copies from the collection of Armenian charms, primary Armenian sources regarding the history of Alexander, and philosophical works.

During the conference, Professor Gippert was awarded a Certificate of Honor by Matenadaran in recognition of his significant contributions to manuscript studies.
