THE “COLLECTION TŌNAPATČAṙ: PART 1” BY ANNA OHANJANYAN IS PUBLISHED

Anna Ohanjanyan, « Collection Tōnapatčaṙ», Mother See of Holy Edjmiadzin publishing house, 2017, 320 pages   The « Edjmiadzin » publishing house published the « Collection Tōnapatčaṙ: Part 1 », compiled by the Senior Researcher of the Department of Study of History of Natural and Medical Sciences of the Matenadaran; Editor Gevorg Ter-Vardanian. The collection presents special types of homilies from miscellaneous materials – dogmatic, hagiographical, martyrological, exegetical, patristic, excerpts from Church history, traditional and monastic folklore, hymns and madrasahs penned by various fathers and teachers of the Church. It is a unique unit of Armenian ecclesiastical literature, the equivalent of which is not found in other ecclesiastical tradition. The « Tōnapatčaṙ » is presented not only as festive-ritualistic, but also as doctrinal and anti-chalcedonic collection.  The publication of the book was sponsored by the “Sargis Gabrielian” Foundation.
