On July 3, within the framework of the 22nd Yerevan Perspectives International Music Festival, journalists of several leading Italian news agencies accompanying Ricardo Muti, the chief conductor of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the Orchestra Giovanile Luigi Cherubini, and the Honorary Director of the Rome Opera, visited Mashtots Matenadaran. Accompanied by Vahan Ter-Ghevondian, the director of Matenadaran, the guests toured the museum building and got acquainted with the study of medieval Armenian literature and the manuscript heritage of Artsakh, as well as the foreign language manuscripts kept in Matenadaran (in particular, the manuscripts, documents and old printed books testifying to the centuries-old Armenian-Italian cultural ties). Within the framework of the visit, the guests also visited the Restoration Department of Matenadaran and got acquainted with the restoration works.
