Within the framework of the UNESCO program “Revive the Spirit of Mosul,” on the initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and with the support of the Consulate General of the Republic of Armenia in Erbil, on September 18 Gayane Eliazyan, the head of the Restoration Department of Matenadaran, and senior restorer Susanna Barseghyan made a week-long visit to the Center for the Digitization of Oriental Manuscripts in Erbil, Iraq. The purpose of this visit was the evaluation of local professional and technical capabilities and practical support in the restoration of old manuscripts. This visit is a continuation of the one-week workshop on the preservation and restoration of manuscripts organized by Matenadaran in September 2021 for the representatives of the above-mentioned center in Erbil.
