On the 24th of November, Mashtots Matenadaran opened an exclusive exhibition entitled “Matenadaran: The Revelation of the Photographic Treasury”.
This exhibition showcased photographs from various collections of Matenadaran, which are of significant importance from a historical, art, source, and ethnographic standpoint. The retrieval and publication of these old photos were unprecedented in the history of the Matenadaran Museum, and modern technologies have breathed new life into them. It was the first time guests saw these photographs and appreciated this vast legacy.
They also beheld the “Selections of Photographs from the Collections of Mashtots Matenadaran” album. The book was the long-term study of Yvette Tajarian, the senior researcher of Matenadaran and exhibition coordinator.
The exhibition is now open to everyone, who can explore the historical art of photography and even take personal photos of the old tradition as a precious and beautiful memory to keep in an album.
