THE ARMENIAN PREMIERE OF THE DOCUMENTARY FILM ‘LOST, FOUND, HIDDEN’ ABOUT THE GOSPEL OF SKEVRA WAS HELD AT MATENADARAN

The screening was preceded by a press conference dedicated to the Armenian-Polish co-production. During the conference, a unique facsimile of the Gospel of Skevra was also exhibited.

Speakers at the press conference included Daniel Danielyan, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport of the Republic of Armenia; Ara Khzmalyan, Director of Matenadaran; Vahram Mkhitaryan, the film’s director; Alexandra Majinska, producer; and Professor Krzysztof Stopka of Jagiellonian University in Kraków.

The film details the extraordinary and dramatic journey of the Gospel of Skevra — one of the masterpieces of 12th-century Armenian manuscript art — from Cilicia to Poland, its disappearance during World War II, and its subsequent rediscovery decades later.

The production was carried out within the framework of Armenian-Polish cultural collaboration and was co-financed by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport of the Republic of Armenia, as well as the Cinema Foundation of Armenia.
