The Matenadaran delegation held discussions with the leadership and staff of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, as well as representatives of the Armenian community. The meeting was organised by Razmik Panossian, Head of the Armenian Communities Department.
Ara Khzmalyan outlined the Matenadaran’s activities in international scholarly collaboration, manuscript restoration, exhibition, and other strategic areas. The discussion emphasised the importance of continuing to publish the “Armenian Classical Authors” (Matenagirk Hayots) and developing an electronic database for a comprehensive catalogue of Armenian manuscripts, a project supported by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. The launch of this new platform is scheduled for 22 July 2026, during the International Congress of Armenian Studies.
Ara Khzmalyan invited the Chairman of the Board of Trustees to visit Matenadaran, emphasising that the visit would provide an opportunity to engage directly with the institution’s distinctive programs and ongoing projects.
