The seminar has brought together 36 participants from 16 countries around the world. Special emphasis is placed on the participation of restoration and preservation specialists from conflict and post-conflict regions.
Opening remarks were delivered by RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan, Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Vassilis Maragos, and Director of the Matenadaran Ara Khzmalyan.
Minister Zhanna Andreasyan awarded the RA MESCS Gold Medal to long-time seminar participant Tamara Ohanian, an employee of the Library of Congress (USA).
During the event, a ceremonial cancellation of the stamp titled “Armenian Miniature Art” took place, along with the official opening ceremony of the Matenadaran’s Laboratory for the Study and Restoration of Arabic-script Manuscripts.
