
On May 14, 2026, Hasmik Kirakosyan, Head of the Research Group on Medical and Natural Science Texts at Matenadaran, delivered a lecture at the Department of African, Middle Eastern, and South Asian Languages and Literatures (AMESALL) at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, USA, for students and faculty members.
Entitled “Armenian Medieval Medical Manuscripts and the Trajectories of Greco-Arabic and Persian Medical Knowledge,” the lecture explored the rich collection of medical manuscripts preserved at the Matenadaran, emphasizing their significance within broader intercultural and interreligious exchanges of medical knowledge. The event brought together orientalists, as well as faculty members and students affiliated with the university’s Armenian Studies program.
