At the university, the delegation was welcomed by Father Fadi Kmeid, Head of the Library, who arranged a special tour introducing the work of the restoration and digitization departments.
The tour was followed by a discussion outlining potential areas of future cooperation, particularly joint projects to restore Armenian written heritage in Lebanon, the work of Matenadaran’s Laboratory for the Restoration and Study of Arabic-Script Manuscripts, and the joint study of Christian and Islamic written heritage.
The Director invited Father Fadi Kmeid and Essin Jmayel, Head of the Restoration Department, to participate in international projects to be held at Matenadaran in 2027.
The visit to the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik was initiated by His Eminence Archbishop Shahan Sarkissian, Head of the “Cilicia” Library and Matenadaran of the Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia. The delegation was also accompanied by Reverend Father Abraham Julfayan, Director of the Archives of the Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia.
