Today prominent Armenologist Michael Stone from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem is guest in Matenadaran. He has been studying Armenian manuscripts and finding new important texts for many years. Now he is here for the same purpose.
During this visit Michael Stone presented to Matenadaran the original large negatives of the luxurious Album of Armenian Paleography (published in 2002, the Armenian version in 2006 only 200 of them were included in the Album), and the 35mm diapositives of many artistic materials, manuscript illuminations etc. which his wife Nira Stone (expert in Medieval Armenian art, 1938-2013) gathered over her life’s academic work.
