“CULTURAL HERITAGE OF ARTSAKH: ARMENIAN HISTORY AND ITS TRACES IN NAGORNO-KARABAKH” HAS BEEN PUBLISHED

A collection titled “Cultural Heritage of Artsakh: Armenian history and its traces in Nagorno-Karabakh” has been recently published by the publishing house of Kiel University in Germany (Editors: Andreas Muller, Harutyun G. Harutyunyan, Dagmar Heller, Martin Tamcke).

The collection is a result of an international conference with the same name that was organized by the editors at the Theology Faculty of Yerevan State University and Vayots Dzor Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church. Many scientists and experts from Armenia, Artsakh, Germany, Switzerland, and Belgium attended the conference.

The collection includes articles in German, Armenian, and English languages. The articles are related to the history and culture of Artsakh, along with international political science and jurisprudence issues. The collection also contains articles of senior researchers of Mashtots Matenadaran like “Manuscript Heritage of Artsakh and Utik” by Vahan Ter-Ghevondian, “The Karvajar settlement of Artsakh in the colophon of a 15th-century Armenian manuscript” by Tamara Minasyan, “Evangelization of the Apostles Yegisha and Dad in Artsakh and Utik according to the Armenian tradition” by Lusine Tumanyan and “The literary heritage of the philosopher, theologian and philologist Hovsep‘ Arts‘akhets‘i (18th–19th centuries) by Armine Melkonyan.” Anahit Avagyan, a senior researcher, played a significant role in compiling the volume and translating the articles into German.

A public presentation of the collective edition will be held on March 6 at 6:30 PM (German time) in Berlin. The DGAP (German Council on Foreign Relations) and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS) organized the event.
