SCIENTIFIC STAFF EXCHANGE UNDER THE ERASMUS+ PROGRAM

From October 14 to 18, 2024, two researchers of the Matenadaran, Senior Researcher, Ph.D. in History Garnik Harutyunyan and Junior Researcher Tatevik Stepanyan, participated in a professional training at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece) within the framework of the Erasmus+ program, as part of the scientific staff exchange for the winter semester 2024-2025.

Garnik Haruyunyan, under the guidance of his host Professor Christos Arabatzis (Χρήστος Αραμπατζής), held meetings and professional discussions with a number of professors of the School of Theology of the Aristotle University.

On October 17, at the suggestion of the professors of the School of Theology, G. Harutyunyan delivered a lecture on Armenian manuscripts, their collections and especially on the Matenadaran and its activities, entitled “The Treasury of Manuscripts – Mesrop Mashtots Institute of Ancient Manuscripts, the MATENADARAN”, after which the lecturer answered the questions of the students, professors, and guests present.

Tatevik Stepanyan attended Greek language courses dedicated to Ancient Greek poetry and prose, as well as other courses in linguistics coordinated by Professor of Linguistics Despoina Papadopoulou (Δέσποινα Παπαδοπούλου) at the School of Philology of the Aristotle University.
