LEVON KHACHIKIAN’S WORKS, VOLUME II IS PUBLISHED

Levon Khachikian, “Works”, volume II, Nairi, 2017, 544 pages. Compiled by Shushanik Khachikyan, edited by Paruyr Muradyan
Matenadaran has published the second volume of Levon Khachikian’s Works. The volume includes the author’s studies of the history of Armenian medieval noble dynasties and administrative formations, colonies and settlements, Armenian medieval rural communities, craftsmanship, and economic transactions. The studies are conducted based on new manuscript materials, with new methods of critical analysis. The author’s findings solve many mysteries, or pave a path to their solution. In the chapter “Religious and Ideological Issues”, a new impetus and assessment is given to the activities of the School of Kirna. The “Appendix” contains an article that examines some evidence of autopsy in ancient Armenia, and is followed by two Index sections.    The publication of the book was sponsored by the Calouste Gulbenkian foundation.
