This conference pays tribute to the 130th anniversary of the Iranian-Armenian painter Andre Sevrugian (1894, Tehran-1996, Stuttgart). Sevrugian, a member of the mid-20th-century artist generation, brought innovation to Persian fine art. Influenced by the universal and humanistic ideas expressed in the works of renowned poets such as Firdawsi, Khayyam, Hafez, Baba Taher, and Sayat-Nova, Sevrugian’s paintings depict a rich tapestry of Persian literature and culture. His legacy is a unique blend of Eastern and Western art.
